On My Face: Daiquiries and girltalk

To celebrate the easterholiday, I went out for drinks with one of my best friends! And I thought that I would show you guys my face.

I started by playing around with three different eyeshadows two of them are from the L’OREAL Color Infailible line in the Colours: 002 Hourglass Beige and 021 Sahara Treasure. I used the lighter colour all over the lid and in the inner corner. I took the darker colour in the crease and outer corner of the eye. I then played a little with the RIMMEL Colour Rush in 060 Bronzed. I blended this in, in the crease and applied a little on the lower lash line to define the eye a bit.

I received the DAINTY DOLL Eyeliner & Mascara Duo in My Beauty Box this month and I really like the eyeliner – easy to work with! Since I had a lot on the eye I wanted to keep the rest simple. So on the cheekbones I’m wearing the E.L.F. Golden Bronzer which I got in the begining of this month. I also applied a bit of this in the inner corner of my eye and just under my eyebrow.

For the lips, I’m loving this combination. MAC Hot Gossip and on top of that I’m wearing my new E.L.F. Lipgloss in Berry Cherry. I really like this gloss and I will be doing a review on this in the nearest future

Loved this girly look of the night!

Here are two of the pictures taken that night. My beautiful friend and a strawberry Daiquri. Yummy! We went out for time girly time and drinks. I haven’t seen her in what feels like forever, so it was lovely to see her again!

Happy easter and have a lovely weekend!

What are you guys doing for easter? Anything special? I have been seeing, and going to see family and friends.

OOTD: When Spring Won’t Come To Me..

.. I had to bring it myself! I’m at my moms rigth now – she lives in the countryside, so I though it would be perfect for a Outfit Of The Day.                                                                                                   –> My moms finger!

So that is what I did today. Yes, I’m aware that it is MARCH, which would have made this outfit perfect according to the calendar, but I don’t think that the weather is aware of that, because the snow keeps on coming.
I might have looked a bit spring-crazy when my mom and I went in to do some grocery shopping, but I don’t care I want the sun to come out and for it to be Spring 🙂

It’s still cold outside so I had to wear a jacket. I love this jacket which I got made, when I took a semester in China last year. I designed it myself with a lot of inspiration from a jacket from Zara. My boots are also from China – I found those on a cheap shopping market called Qi Pu Lu.

I love this dress from H&M which I purchased last Summer. It’s perfect for Spring and Summer with these lovely colours! I’m wearing a black top under the dress, but you could just wear a cute bra or a bandeau underneath it in the Summer time, since the tophalf of the dress is transparent.
The belt is a old one, which my mom gave to me. I just love it. It can go with a lot of different dresses and outfits.

When I think about it I’m wearing a lot of H&M today – Dress, tights and sunglasses. I actually think I purchased all of this last Summer. Love it – nice and cheap.

Wups, I went a bit crazy in this last photo. I hope you liked my first Outfits Of The Day – let me know in the comments below if you want more 🙂

Have a lovely Sunday

My Beauty Box: March

Hey, lovely people! I just wanted to say that I’m sorry that I’ve been MIA lately, but have been a little busy with school and other stuff. But it’s gonna change since I’m done with classes this Friday, so I’ve plenty of time to do what I love, which is writing posts for you guys 🙂 Lets get going with this post.

Ever since Birch Box came out in the states, I’ve wanted one! Since then there have been loads of different subscription services all over the world. And finally it came to Denmark! Oh yeah.. But at the time this started I was studying abroad.

Soo, when I came home, started school and got settled in my apartment again, I subscribed to
My Beauty Box. This is my first box and I was so excited when I saw it standing outside my door when I came home from school.

These beauty boxes gives you the opportunity to try new products without spending too much money. I pay 129 DDK (£14) a month for 4-5 products. Some of them are full size and others are samples – I’m already a big fan of the idea.

What was in the box, you ask? Well, I’ll show you here:

The box is nicely put together and you get a little card which describes what the box contains this month. And the great think about these boxes is that you can use them to organize your makeup or other stuff.

On the card they descibe seven products, so at first I didn’t know if I didn’t received all of my products or what was happening. But it turns out that not every box contains the same products, which, for me, is fine but I just don’t wanna know which products I was missing out on. I don’t know if it’s just me that’s being weird?

Now to the products! I received two skin care products and two makeup products which I’m really happy about.

DR. HAUSCHKA Blackthorn Body Wash 150ml: This is a full size product. I immediately wanted to smell it – is that weird? I don’t know if you’ve ever been to a beauty salon but it smells just like when I step into the salon where I get my brows fixed. I think it is the Rosemary essential oil that gives it that smell. I’m looking forward to try this, especially on my, very, dry legs!

KORRES Wild Rose Moisturising Cream 10ml: This is a sample size, a full size is 40 ml. I haven’t heard a lot about this brand but I’m really looking forward to try this. It is a 24-hour moisturiser and has SPF 6, so just a mild SPF. The cream contains wild rose oil which delivers natural vitamin C to your skin and is free from a lot of things. The smell is nice and subtle, which is nice when it is for the face.

DAINTY DOLL Mascara and Eyeliner Duo: This is a full size product. This brand is pretty new, I think, and it’s specially designed for fairer skin tones. I got the black/brown colour 002 Shape Up Little Suzy – cute name! I like the colour, which I think is going to be nice for an everyday makeup look.

The eyeliner is nice and thin, whereas the mascara brush is big, which I really like.

O.P.I Nail Lacquer 375 ml: This is a sample size. It is a light grey colour, almost white. The brush and colour is going to nice to create geometric designs – this years spring trend. Unfortunately it doesn’t say anywhere the name of the colour, so if any of know the colour then tell me in the comments below – I’m just curious 😉

So, this was my first beauty box and I’m really happy and positive! Already looking forward to the next one. Are you subscribed to any beauty boxes? Or have you tried any of these products? Let me know what you think in the comments beeeelooow 🙂

Have a nice Wednesday, wherever you are

First Impression: E.l.f Cosmetics

Yay! The post-woman saved my day yesterday! She had my little parcel with e.l.f. cosmetics with her. I immediately took loads of pictures of the products, so that I could try them out – Yep, just being a totally normal person.

I’ve heard a lot of great things about e.l.f. cosmetics – It’s suppose to be cheap, which it is, but the quality is suppose to be lovely to. It’s the first time I order some of products, and it went really smooth. I ordered it last Thursday and chose the European Standard delivery, since I wasn’t willing to pay a lot of money in delivery fee. The parcel was going to take 7-14 days from the dispatch, but I received it only 4 days after the dispatch – yay for me!

Now to the products. I didn’t want to spend too much money, as I didn’t know anything about the quality. But this is still 4 products for £10 – bargain. I’m a bit of a lip-lady, so I chose 2 different products. The first one is the Hypershine Lip Gloss in Berry Cherry £1.5. I’ve only tried this product on my arm to do a swatch, but it doesn’t seem sticky, which I really hope that is wouldn’t be. I really dislike sticky glosses. The packaging is nice and is similar to the the Stila Lip Glaze packaging. It’s a twist application, which means that you twist in the bottom of the gloss and the product will magically appear in the brush. I also chose a lipstick in this case Lipstick in Posh £1.5. It seems really creamy and I adore the colour. The packaging is OK, but not the best I’ve seen. Since I don’t have a lot of blushes in my collection I just had to have one, I chose Blush in Blushing Rose £3.75. I think that I’m going to have a lot of use out of this! The colour is gorgeous, just what I expected. The packaging is nice and seems really “not-cheap”. And their is a little mirror, which I like. The plastic is hard and really professional.

(from L-R: Blushing Rose, Berry Cherry, Posh)

Now, I bought this bronzer, to use it as a highlighter. For me at least, it seems as more of a highlighter than a bronzer. Bronzer in Golden £3.75 have 4 different colours, all shining, which you mix together with a brush. I think I could be tempted to use the colours for eyeshadow too. The packaging is similar to the blush, a bit bigger, and have a big mirror.

Overall – I’m really impressed by the packaging and the colours of these products. Now I have to give all of them a try, and I’ll do a review afterwards. If you want to take a look at some of the products, or find new ones, you can take a look here.

Have you ever bought products from e.l.f.? What do/did you think of the products? Tell me in the comments beeelow! 🙂

Have a fantastic weekend

Nails Of The Day #1 – Confettis Friday

TGIF – it’s Friday. So I wanted to do some special nails today.

I love wearing something on my nails – it brings some life and a little colour in this grey time – yes it’s still freezing, grey and rainy in the beginning of March, at least where I’m from!

So I wanted to do a little nail-spa for myself. I begin my little nail-spa-hour by taking some cuticle remover, in this case I used Sally Hansen Gel Cuticle Remover. I found this in the sales a couple weeks ago, and this was the first time I used it. After the cuticle removing part, which takes about 3 minutes, I then take and apply a base coat. Base coats prevents the colour from the nail polish to rub of on your nails – you can otherwise get yellow nails and that ain’t pretty – so if you are a daily user of nail polish I would recommend that you use a base coat. The base coat I’m using is the Sally Hansen Diamond Strength Hardener I find that this works well for my nails – you can use this both as a base coat but also as a polish by its self. When this has dried I then take the colour of my choice in this case Maxfactor Glossfinity in Angel Nails. I love this polish, it’s one of my favourites! You can in  use this every season – Summer, Winter, Spring and Autumn. It is a silvery gold colour – me likey. I have another colour from this brand and formulation and I plan to get more, I love the formulation – You get glossy nails for up to 7 days, as it says on the bottle. At this point, normally, I just apply a clear top coat from Sally Hansen Double Duty. But a couple a weeks ago I found this little beauty L’oréal Paris Color Riche in 916 Confettis. This just spice it up a bit. I use the trend of only applying this on two fingers, because I really adore that look. For some reason it’s like my hands screams for hand cream after I’ve applied nail polish, therefore I take my all time favourite cream from Nuxe Hand and Nail Cream which I actually did a post on here.
So, this is my nails of the day. What is yours? And what are your favourite nail polish at the moment? Tell me on the comments beeeloow! 🙂

Have a really nice, wonderful and fun weekend! <3

Wish Lists: Budget #1

Today I’ve made a little budget wish list! I got the inspiration from a makeup tutorial I watched on youtube – Pixiwoo. I love the look she did, especially the eyes – gorgeous, do I have to say more!?

So why not start with the eyes!

MUA 12 Shade Palette in Heaven and Earth £4: I think that this is a palette that everyone can use, and I need to get my hands in this! It’s perfect for a day and night smokey eye but it’s also perfect for only applying one shade. I need this palette in my collection and it’s only £4 (34DDK) Bargain! That’s all I have to say. You can get your hands in this here.

e.l.f Studio Eyebrow Kit in Medium £3.75: I have kind of bushy eyebrows but sometimes I feel that they need to be filled in a bit – just a little bit. I’ve heard a lot about this kit and it’s suppose to be really good. It’s a wax formula which helps the brows to stay in place. Unfortunately, the kit is always out of stock! But if it comes back in stock, it’s MINE and it can be yours too, buy it here.

GOSH Show Me Volume £10: I know that you can get mascaras cheaper than this one, but I had to show you guys this. I love this mascara. I try new mascaras all the time but I keep going back to this one. The brush can be a bit overwhelming, at first as it is the size of a bumble bee! But I think that’s what I like about it. I feel that it gives my lashes extra volume. Your lashes can get all voluminous too right here.

Now to the lovely cheeks.

e.l.f. Blush in Candid Coral £3.75: I just ordered a blush from e.l.f. in the colour Blushin Rose – review’s on the way. I’m really looking forward to try it and if it’s good, then this will be the next colour in my collection. If you want this, or any of the other colours, then take a look on e.l.f.

TOPSHOP Face Sculpting Palette In Kick Start £12,50 (108DDK): Now, this is pricier than the other products but in defence it is a 4in1. This kit have creamy blush, highlight and bronzer. You can blend them or just use them the way they are. I think it’s a really great palette and it’s easy to take with when pack for a trip. If you’re interested in this beautiful kit – take a peek here.

The lips need some colour too.

NYX Matte Lipstick in Neutral Mauve $6 (£4): I really adore this colour. I haven’t seen the colour in real life but I imagine that it is a nude plum colour. I haven’t heard that much about NYX lipsticks, it’s more the blushes that’s in the limelight, but they have some gorgeous colours, see all of them here.

NYX Mega Shine Lip Gloss in Tea Rose $5 (£3.30): I’m not the biggest lip gloss fan but I’ve heard some great things about these lip glosses and hopefully they’re not as sticky as many other glosses. I really liked this colour and it could work great over the lipstick. Take a peek on this colour or come of the others here.
One more thing about the NYX products – they are damn cheap!

Tools to set the makeup

e.l.f. Studio Makeup Mist & Set £3.75: To keep all of these makeup items in place all day I really want to try this spray. I have no idea if is works, but I have a feeling that it will. You can take a look at this spray right here.

NYX and e.l.f. Brushes: To put on all of these makeup items, you need some brushes. I found these from NYX and e.l.f. Blush brush from NYX $9.50 (£6.30), Shadow Smokie Fat from NYX $4 (£2.60) and the to blend the eyeshadow nicely in you can use the Blending Eye Brush from e.l.f. £1.5

Sorry if this post is a bit too long, but hope you like it and that it was useful.

Do you also make wish lists? Have you tried any of these products – what are your thoughts? Tell me in the comments beloooow! 🙂

My Face is Wearing #1

Today I wore, still am wearing, some of the new products that I bought last friday. I didn’t wanna over do it, so I went with no foundation today. This girl have to get use to wearing it. Though, I wore it saturday and feels really nice!

It was a normal school day today, baah, but it’s also monday. Mondays are always the worst day of the week so I wanted to spice it up a bit with a red lip. This Rimmel 1000 kisses is so easy to apply and I love this colour – 500 Unstoppable Red. Since I was wearing a bold lip, I kept my eyes in the neutrals by using light brown colours from the Maybelline Eyestudio pallet in 05 Glamour Browns, which I bought ages ago. As a primer I used the eyeprimer from Make up Store which is lovely and make my eyeshadow stay on. I used two mascaras – one for the top eyelashes and one for the bottom. For the top lashes I used Maxfactor Eye Brightening Tonal Black Volumising Mascara for brown eyes – I love the wand on this one even though I don’t feel that it’s eye brightening, as the name says. For the bottom lashes I used the Clinique Bottom Lash Mascara, this has a tiny tiny wand that is perfect for the bottom lashes. Last but not least, for the cheeks I was wearing my new Rimmel Lasting Finish Soft Colour Blush in 020 Pink Rose, a subtle neutral colour.

Bold lip with a simpel eye!

What do you guys think? And what was your face wearing to day? Tell me in the comments below 😉

The Week #1

The first week of blogging is almost over and we are getting closer to begin the second week – how the time flies away. Here are what happened this week

The Week in Instagram @mlhauken: The lipstick I’ve reached for the most * Got some healthy salmon dinner * My February Favourites * I made a cheeky order from e.l.f * Was a bit bored at school, so we did a hairdo * Wore my first foundation – kinda love it! * This made me so happy. Nuxe replied my tweet!

Blog Post of the Week: I just need my fix of Viviannadoesmakeup. Her blogposts are fun, kreative and well written. She writes a post everyday and normally about beauty stuff but the post of the week have to be the one with the cookies. My mouth was watering when I read this post. Yummy! I’m gonna try these soon but until then I wanted to give you the great pleasure of reading this. WARNING WARNING, it will probably make you addicted, just by looking at it!

Must Watch of the Week: Tanya Burr is cute, girly and completely lovable! Please go and check her channel out on Youtube, maybe starting with her recreation of Taylor Swifts makeup from the BRITs. I love it and will try it out myself one day. That’s it – go see it and you’ll understand!

What Made Me Happy this Week: I gained my very first followers! Thank you, this made me smile.

Tell me in the comments below if you have any blog posts and must watch of the week that you’ll recommend. I saw this in a blogpost from Viviannadoesmakeup and got inspireret to do one myself.

Cheeky Pay Day Shopping

It was pay day yesterday and we all know what that means – Shooooppiiing! I’m visiting my sister today and we decided take a quick peek into town. I mean quick, we only had 1 hour before we had to go to the cinema with my brother and my sister’s boyfriend. Here are my cheeky little purchases!

RIMMEL LONDON Wake Me Up Foundation: The day has arrived! My very first foundation. I know this sounds a bit odd but I’ve been scared, in some kind of way, to try out foundations. My skin have never really been in bad condition so I haven’t felt the need and I’ve grown up with girls that couldn’t apply it right (The “dreaded” foundation mask) and I didn’t wanna be one of those girls. But since I started reading beauty-blogs and watching vlogs on youtube I have been wanting to try one out. I didn’t want to splurge on a expencive one, so it should be good and fairly cheap. Beauty gurus raves about this drugstore foundation so I purchased it in the colour: 201 Classic Beige There will be a review when I’ve tested it.

RIMMEL LONDON Lasting Finish 1000 Kisses: I have been wanting to try these lips tints for a while and the new colours just arrived to the Danish stores – yay! I really love this colour – 500 Unstoppable Red. It’s easy to apply and leaves the lips with in a lovely colour – but I’m going to try it out a couple more time before I know if I really like it. But the first impression is good.

RIMMEL LONDON Lasting Finish Soft Colour Blush: Wow, that was a long name.. As you can see I went a little bit crazy with Rimmel products! Wupzi. They had a offer  “Buy 3 get 1 free” – so I did.  I’ve heard a lot about these blushes and I wanted to try them out myself. This one is a beautiful peachy pink colour with a hint of shimmer. The colour is 020 Pink Rose and looks really subtle and neutral.

RIMMEL LONDON Wake Me Up Concealer: This is the last Rimmel product in this post – I promise.
I wanted to try this concealer – partly because I wanted the concealer that matched the foundation and partly because of the review about this. I purchased it in 030 Classic Beige. I think I’m gonna do a review on the foundation, concealer and brush together.

MATAS Dry Shampoo: My sister has greasy hair and had been trying this dry shampoo out for a while, so I wanted to give it a go. I go to the gym a lot which means shower after shower – and to be honest I don’t feel that it is healthy for my hair to be washed that often so I have been wanting to try a dry shampoo for ages. This one is from a Danish brand but there are a lot of choices out there.

NILENS JORD 375 Professional Powder Brush: After buying the foundation, I of course needed a foundation brush. The obvious choice would have been á foundation brush but I’ve seen a lot of YouTube girls use a stibling brush and that looked really easy to work with. The brand is also Danish but you can find a lot of brushes similar to this one. This is just one of the few brush-purchasing-opportunities we have at Matas.

So this is what I purchased in an hour – I could’ve spend soo much more time and money but we had a reservation waiting – luckily for my purse.
I’ll do a review on these products as soon as I’ve tried them out. Have you tried any of the products and what did you think? Tell me in the comments below 🙂

Have a nice weekend!
