Review // L’oréal Paris Miss Manga Mega Volume Mascara

Yes, I’m one of those lucky ones with great eyelashes which means that I rarely find a mascara that I don’t like at all. I can almost always find some that I like or that I really really love. This isn’t the case though. I don’t want to get all negative about this mascara – but I think a good blog contains both the positive but also negative reviews. So here it goes. This mascara is the L’oréal Paris Miss Manga Mega Volume. I won this mascara and a whole box full of wonderfull makeup, thanks to you – so thank you or… Ah, just kidding.

I have heard quite a bit about this one – from a lot of UK bloggers and youtubers and I’m just not as impressed as everyone seems to be. First of all, I really don’t like the bending function but I think that’s a matter of personal taste. Another thing that I’m not keen on is the tapered brush. I have owned ones with tapered brushes that worked fine but in this case – nah. It is like the product accumulates to the “top” part of the brush which means that the inner lashes gets to much product on them.

Lastly – I really don’t like the formulation. It is sticky, has a weird smell.. The smell is something I could be okay with if the formulation was good.

Funny story – that wasn’t so fun: One of the days I tested it I had to go to work. I jumped on the bike and it was windy with a lot of small bugs in the air. The mascara was SO sticky that the small bugs got stuck on my lashes – what the F… No go mascara for me!

No-go’s:

– Bending funktion – personally not my taste
– Non-functioning tapered brush
– Too much product gets on the inner lashes
– Sticky and smelly

Have you tried the Miss Manga Mega Volume Mascara? What were our experience?

Curly Curls // Redken Curvaceous Curl Dive

180 ml, £29
Do you have natural curls? And have you straighten your too much and are having difficulties getting the curls back? Look no further Redken Curvaceous Curl Dive has come to your rescue! Yes, I am aware that this sounds just like a sales pitch which it kinda of is but then not.

I have a lot of hair, a lot of thick to normal hair, non coloured (at the moment) with natural curls. Coloured hair and curls tend to need a lot of moisture – I need to apply oil to my hair everyday otherwise it will get dry. Crunch, crunch

Due to a straight hair trend, I straighten my hair a little too much and I now have difficulties getting my natural curls back. I miss my curls! So when I saw a review of this, I knew that I had to try it myself. It is my first Redken product, I think, and I am very impressed. I plan to try other products from the Curvaceous range – do let me know if you have any recommendations?

Now to the review of this gorgeous hair mask. The best thing about this hair mask is its consistency! It is very thick and buttery consistency – just the way I like my hair masks! It has a lovely but very subtle nutty scent. And now that I’m sat hair smelling my hair I find hat the scent does not linger which I like! I have one dislike though – why the H are hair masks almost always in a pot? It’s so annoying. Water is everywhere in the shower – doh! And it is everywhere in my pot of hair mask.

I use this hair mask once a week. I usually use it after I have used my loved deep cleansing shampoo (do let me know if you want a review). I find that that shampoo strips the hair and makes it ready to be dosed with moisture from the hair mask. I let it do its job between 5-15 minutes – depending on how long my shower is that day. WOLA, but long lost curls are starting to come back to life!

Overall;
– A hair mask for you if you either have very dry hair or/and curls that you want to bring back to life
– I really think that I will always have this in stock! I know that you can buy it at different hairdressers but take a look online too – you might find some great offers!

Hope you liked this review – do remember to let me know if you have any recommendations within the same range or a totally different brand <3

Review // Burberry Weekend

If there’s is one thing (amongst a whole list) I’m bad at describing – it’s perfume scents! Are you the same way – or is it just me? I’m not the biggest perfume lover, it’s just something I kind of “forget” to put on in the morning. Don’t get me wrong, I’m not a smelly person but I have to really (like in REALLY!) love a perfume to remember to spray some wifs in the morning.

With that being said I’ve found two gems that I think will stay in my collection for years! One of them is Burberry Weekend. I’ve been meaning to pick this up ever since I got a sample a couple of years ago. So when I went into the local drugstore every now and then (read: everyday) I asked for a sample just to make sure that I wanted to invest in it. I love the scent and I can’t believe it has taken me so long to get it.

The bottle is what I would associate with Burberry – very elegant and classic. It looks pretty and slik next to my colourful Stella McCartney – The Print Collection which is my other perfume love!

As for the scent, I would say it’s pretty casual and for day-time! According to the interweb the perfume’s notes are; Soft Peach, Apricot, Marigold, Sandalwood, Vanilla and Musk. So  quite fruity but still not too overwhelming and still fresh.

Every time I – remember to – spray some wifs I get quite a few compliments. Don’t we all love compliments? So wif wif wif with this one errry day! This is definitely a perfume I’m regretting not getting the bigger size in *Slaps on the wrist* Maybe a cheeky airport-buy when I’m going home from Vietnam!?

Which one is your absolute go-to perfume at the moment? Maybe I pick up some ideas.

Lots of love – from Vietnam

Review // Skin Food Black Bean Nose Pack

(Pack of 7; £5, 199.000 VND & 50DDK)

Hi you lovely bunch! I hope you had a great weekend? Mine was a really fun as it was two of the girls’ birthday! So we relaxed Friday and Saturday night we went out for delicious food (aka Jaspas in Ho Chi Minh!) and clubbing! I actually did one of the girls’ make-up – it will be up soon!

Today I have a review for you from a new brand love of mine.

A new love
Skin Foodisn?t a brand that I?ve ever heard of but something about the design of the store and the gorgeous yet sweet design on the bottles, jars, pumps ? yeah basically everything ? drew me to the brand. The need for a new body lotion etc. also helped the search ? what can I say? I love testing!

Yes I?m a sucker for cute packaging but Skin Food is not all about cute packaging. This South Korean brand is the first food cosmetics brand developed with a new and unique concept of food and with the motto ?Good food for health is also good for the skin? what?s not to like!? I fallen for the brand ? watch this space for a haul!

I been wanting to try something that will remove my blackheads ? I?m a shamed to say it but I had disgustingly lots of them (warning: you?ll be able to see it on the pictures). I?ve always had problems with blackheads, they never seem to leave my nose ? dang it! But I think I found the perfect product; Skin Food Black Bean Nose Pack (Reduce Black Heads).

Now, I haven?t tried that many other options so I can?t compare it with other solutions or products but this really works for me. I tested it with the two girls I live with and they saw a difference too, so it?s not just me 😉
So, how does it work, you ask!?
After cleansing, wet the nose area – as in REALLY wet the nose area. Then remove the clean film on the sheet with dry hands and apply the smooth side onto the nose – now wait on til it dries, which is about 10-15 minutes. When dry, peel it of and wash it with water and toner. For toner, I used my Michael Todd True Organics one.

All in all; this is definitely a product that I’ll buy again – might already have! Skin Food suggest using it once or twice a week for a smooth nose – hopefully mine will get smoother soon. I love it!
Have you heard of the brand? If so, have you tried anything?

Lots of love – from Vietnam

Glitter-y, shimmer-y, polish-y

(Gina Tricot Beauty // £4 / 39kr. or 3 for 99kr)
I love nail polish! It’s just something I love to buy, to apply and to look at! So while sat here listening to Chrismas music I wanted to share some new loves. I work at Gina Tricot, as you might already know and I have a mission! To try as many products from their Beauty line as possible. The first victums are their nail polishes!

First of; their selection is gorgeous! There are lots and lots of different shades, different glitter topcoats and finishes – and by finishes I mean the basic one colour ones, the shimmery ones and the glitter ones. These are pretty good and great for the price – £4/39DDK is pretty cheap here in Denmark. I have to say that there’s nothing AH-mazing about them – they don’t have a special wand or anything, but topped with the perfect topcoat *cough cough Mavala cough cough* they last more than a couple of days which is what I love about them. Two coats – Mavala Oil Seal Dryer – BAM – done!

I’ve used every single one of these; Luxurious, Classy Red, Sea Bug, Black Multiglitter and Pink Party. They are actually some of my most reached for since I got them. I love the colours – as they are very Christmass-y and winter-y. I did a post about Sea Bug and Luxurious here and I instagrammed Black Multiglitter here and Luxurious topped with Pink Party here

// Dansk / Danish

Which nail polish range is your favourite at the moment? Have you tried any polishes from Gina Tricot Beauty?

Lots of Love

Review // Michael Todd True Organics Walnut Grapefruit Polishing Scrub

Ramble
A little story behind how I know about Michael Todd True Organics. I first saw it on Rachel Talbott’s channel a year ago – I believe. I really trust her opinion about skin care as she has experience from the ‘real world’. I went to MTTO website to see their products and I really started to lust lust lust! Their products are not too bad in the prize range so even a poor student like myself can afford it. When I started seeing the brand I was in the middle of Shanghai, China studying so I quickly ‘forgot’ about the brand until I got home. By then I had started seeing lots of other youtubers talking about the brand – Fleur (Who enabled one purchase from MTTO), Ingrid and I believe Tati started too. Wow – lots of enablers! And this goes to show that sponsored post/videos really help – I wouldn’t have known about the brand otherwise and I love it!

Review
OK enough about that and now to the review. Michael Todd True Organics are made with only organic ingredients, no added nasties and no animal testing! And their shipment are free from import duty -yay! I ordered a product from Michael Todd True Organics in August, I think. I actually just wanted the Green Blue Algae Toner – due to Fleur – but they had a offer at that moment so I got this full size Michael Todd True Organics Grapefruit Polishing Scrub and a big sample of the Pumpkin Mask. All of this for only the toners price and shipment! What!?

The scrub is a body cleanser exfoliater that removes dead skin cells and stimulates production of fresh skin. It exfoliates beautifully and makes my skin feel soft and cleansed.
Now, imagine that you’re on a beach in the middle of the Christmas season, add a bit of oil to moisture your body + everything Christmas scent-y and here you have the Michael Todd True Organics Walnut Grapefruit Polishing Scrub! The aloe and lavender give a calming affect on the skin where the scrubbing bits which is the walnut and oats feels like small grains of sand and this makes the scrub very pleasing to use. I use this every other time I shower and I’m looking forward to that shower every time. The delicious scent lingers a bit but enough – as I can’t get enough of the scent.

I have had some trouble with breakouts and small bumps on my upper arms and the back of my thighs and this scrub has really helped to reduce them – and some are totally gone! The only downside to this product is the packaging as it’s superb difficult to get the product out without squeezing it, tap it beat it on the floor and try to squeez again. Buuuuut I just took a peek at their site and they have changed the packaging so the have been listening to their costumers – hopefully this packaging will be much better 🙂
All in all, it’s smells heavenly of Christmas and Christmas is my favourite time of the year! Go get your mitts in this Christmassy, all year scrub.

Have you tried anything from MTTO? & What is your favourite body scrub?

Review // L’ORÈAL SKIN PERFECTION 15 Second Miracle Cleansing Oil

Hi beauty! Oh yeah, don’t mind the last picture, I am a bit oily and cray cray in that one ;)! Hope you have had a wonderful weekend so far? Mine have been nice and relaxing so far! Todays post is about a new skin care love of mine. A couple of weeks ago, my sister and I went into Matas as I needed a new cleansing product, my old beloved L’Oréal Purifying Micellar Solution is running empty. The reason why I didn’t pick that up is that it is not available here – bought mine on Feel Unique and WILL be stocking up on that one. But let’s get going with the real reason why I am writing this post.

To state out the obvious – Yes I know it says Sublime Glow on the bottle and not Skin Perfection but I bought it here in Denmark and I think they have come out with another name for the Danes. No I don’t know the reason and why it is still in English 😉

The L’Oréal Skin Perfection 15 Second Miracle Cleansing Oil is a lightweight and non-greasy oil that is a joy to use. It has a fruity and pleasant scent. The scent is not too strong – which I like when I have to use it on ma’ face. It is suppose to instantly dissolves all traces of make-up and impurities. Skin feels perfectly clean with a non-greasy, non-dry feel. Re-balanced and radiant skin.

This is my first oil-based cleanser and I quite like it. I use it at night when I have to remove my make-up, it is just so easy and quick. Quick is probably the best word to describe this product. I take 1-2 pumps rub it in and feel the dissolve-ness of both my face and eye make-up beautifully and quick. *Upsy-wupty* – your makeup is dissolved in 15-20 seconds, as the name nicely describes. I then just rinse with water, dap my face dry, use a toner and apply moisturiser. If I am wearing eyeliner or a dark makeup I need a bit more help removing all the eye makeup – here comes the L’Oréal Purifying Micellar Solution in the picture and saves the day. As I have quite normal skin with dry patches I don’t know if it fits all skin type as it is described to do but it has made my skin feel really soft, fresh and non-oily!
All in all a product that I would happily repurchase, the same goes for the L’Oréal Purifying Micellar Solution.
What do you use to cleanse? Have you tried this cleanser?

Would love to know how this works on other skin types, so let me know if you have tried it and what you thought
Lots of love

Review // Skin Doctors Ingrow Go

(Skin Doctors Ingrow Go – £10.95/DKK 96,50)
Hi gorgeous! So just to warn you a bit this post is going to be about shaving and the subsequent effects – and no it is not only leg-shaving we are talking about.

A girl needs to shave and/or wax and that can sometimes leave razor bumps and ingrown hair which can be incredible painful and itchy – I should know. So when I saw a review over on In The Frow about this product, I just needed to give it ago. I bought mine on Feel Unique and the description on how it works is very informative, so here you go:

Skin Doctors Ingrow Go contains potent ingredients that have a two-way action. Firstly, it cleans out and purifies the affected pore. Next, the exfoliating action goes to work, sloughing away the dry dead skin and releasing the trapped hair. Skin is left clean, clear and silky smooth. And this is exactly how it works.

I use this little miracle worker on my armpits, in the bikini line and between my brows after a wax. The place I have to use this the most on is in the bikini line as I tend to get a lot of razor bumps and ingrown hair after shaving and this is very painful and itchy – Maybe this is TMI but you can’t say I didn’t warn you. I don’t no if you have the same problem but if you do this is a fast worker. It is suppose to work within 24 hours which is actually true – you will definitely be able to see improvement after 24 hours but totally gone? No. That will take a bit more time, depending on how affected the area is.

This works for both shaving and waxing – I use it for both. I get my brows waxed every month as they grow like a mother******, and my skin gets a bit irritated afterwards, so I simply moisten a cotton bud with Ingrow Go and apply to the affected area – in this case between brows and bikini line. You have to use this like a treatment and use it every morning and night for several days prior to waxing or shaving – and pling plang pling *Cue Tinkerbell sound* the affected area is clean and clear.

One thing you need to know though, is that is smells really medical and strong – but in a good way. It smells like it is going to work, if that makes sense? And oh, I like the price too.

Do you have the same problem as me? Do you use something to get rid of it? Yes, what? 🙂

Review // ELF Blush in Pink Passion

Hi lovelies! Today have been a little tiring day for. I want to be more healthy and that means to change my lifestyle and diet which also means tiredness and headaches – for me at least. I’m going to do a post every month or maybe more frequently about my journey to be more healthy and losing weight. I asked on twitter the other day if you would be interested in lifestyle-weight loss-posts and I only received positive feedback! So I think I am going to do those on Wednesday’s and call them Weight loss Wednesday or something. Do tell me if you have a better name idea 🙂

Well enough about that, more about it on Wednesday. So in the beginning of August, ELF had an awesome offer and I, of course, had to get my mitts in some stuff. Want to see the huge haul? Well then you have to click this little link. I wanted to do a little review on this ELF blush as many of you requested a review of it. This blush was one of the first products that I threw in my basket and the reason for that being – I saw it in a youtube video! Damn you youtube-beauty-girls/gurus! The beauty guru in particular was the oh so lovely Tanya Burr and the video was the 20 dollar makeup challenge

This ELF Blush in Pink Passion is a gorgeous barbie pink colour. At first it seems really pink and neon-like but when you swatch it, it is just so beautiful. This little gem have become one of my favourite blushes as it gives a beautiful natural flush to the cheeks. This blush in particular is not crazy pigmented but I do not mind that as it is so pink. I own two more of these blushes and they are more pigmented so I think it is because of the colour – could you imagine running around with this much pink on your cheeks? 😉 The blush is matte but paired with the perfect highligther it is B.E.A.U.T.I.F.U.L. I usually reach for the ELF Baked Blush in Pinktastic – it is the perfect combo! Do let me know if you want to see a review? 🙂

In terms of the packaging – I love it! It kind of reminds me of the NARS packaging, even though I don’t own anything from there, I wish I did though, – but in pictures, they look quite similar! 🙂 It feels more expensive than it really is and it has a tiny mirror in the lid which is fine but it is too small for me to see anything. Can you believe that this blush only retails for £3.75 and I got it for just £1.8 with the offer!? It’s crazy.

Have you tried anything from ELF? Something I need to get my mitts on?

Have a lovely Monday evening and thanks so much for reading! <3

Lot of love

Review // L’Oréal Ever Sleek Shampoo & Conditioner

Hi lovelies! Hope you are having a fab weekend? Mine has been a relaxing one for once. Tonight I am having a night in with myself, B&J and a good chick-flick! Tomorrow is in the name of homework – unfortunately!

While listening to the rain poring down and feeling the fresh air I will now give you a review of the shampoo and conditioner I have been using and testing over the summer. In July I was lucky enough to get chosen to test out some L’Oréal hair care products. I have a blog post all about it here, if you haven’t read it. Well, I got quite a few products, both some for me but also some for two of my friends, so they are also testing some products out – Do let me know in the comments if you want a review from them as none of us were testing the same products.

My hair is coloured, curly and really frizzy so these bottles of goodness were perfect for my hair. I got the ones for Frizzy Overworked Hair, also called the Eversleek* range. This range is filled with botanical extract and sunflower oils which just smells lovely and stops the frizzyness. It smells really creamy – and nope you are not getting anything else out of me when it comes to the scent 😉

The only preference I have when come to shampoo is that it have to foam – a lot. I love when shampoo foams and lathers up. Now for this shampoo it lathers up beautifully and does what it is suppose to and it smells great while doing it. As you can hear, I am more of a conditioner kind of girl. Conditioners have to really soften up my hair, give my natural curls a whirl and dim the frizzyness! This conditioner does the work. It has a creamy consistency that I haven’t seen before but I quite like it. I would recommend this shampoo and conditioner and I would definitely buy it again, but not straight away. As many other bloggers I love testing products and I have never been quite the religious-shampoo-&-conditioner-type.

Let me know if you have any recommendations to which shampoo and conditioner I should try next! I have curls and coloured ombre at the moment, and loving it!

Have a lovely weekend and Saturday night, what ever you are doing! Thanks so much for reading <3

Lot of love
