A Cheeky Pre B-Day Celebration

Our serious beard faces!

Happy Monday to you! This weekend was far too short for me and I’m feeling the Monday blue’s today! I had a fab weekend though, hope you had too? As you might have seen in my wish list post (here) my birthday is coming up. This year it’s on a Wednesday so I thought that I would invite the girls over this weekend so we could have fun and celebrate.

The day was really nice and totally relaxing. Mette and I spend most of the morning with fits in our mouth, shouting at the TV – yes we saw the last couple of episodes of Orange Is The New Black! Wops, a season that was! Afterwards we went down to the grocery store, bought food and went home to cook it. A yummy dish is always spaghetti bologonese with loads of vegetables – quick and easy to make for a bunch of hungry girls.

I got the nicest surprise from Mette – a beauty of a cake! And it tasted delicious too – yum yum! Luckily there are still some in the fridge! Later on, the drinking began – vodka, beer and soda was consumed, we played charades and got more and more happy .. ahem drunk …!

As it was our last night out here in Vietnam before leaving next Sunday, we wanted to go dancing and why not do that at the same club that we have been to a couple of times. The funny part was that it was the club’s birthday too. They had a huge cake, good music and waaaay too many people but we had fun dancing the night away!

Thanks to the ladies for making it a fun night! <3

How did you spent your weekend? Any fun plans?

Lot of love

Birthday Wish List // The one with ..

Wish List: The one with .. no beauty bits!
Happy Friday, y’all! Wow where did that come from .. y’all!? I’m in a relaxing, happy Friday mood today. Tonight I’m going out for dinner and to the cinema with the girls I’m travelling with – we’re going to watch 22 Jump Street and I’m SO excited! Tomorrow, we’re celebrating my birthday with home cooked dinner, drinks, karaoke (as you do in Vietnam) and dancing – of cause!

My birthday is coming up next week, so I wanted to make a little wish list – which ended in me doing two instead. One with no beauty bits, and a beauty one. I could come up with more things but these are the in the top of my wishes!

On the top TOP of my list is a camera! I don’t have a particular one in mind – so do leave me some suggestions, please! I’ve been asking a bit on twitter (psst mlhauken) and people have been very nice and helping me to find the perfect one! Thank you. I would love one that takes lovely pictures but also film really well. Some studio lights are also on the list for the pictures I will be taking with the new camera. Wish wish wish!

Another item that on the top TOP is a juicer! I’ve been drinking so many juices here in Vietnam and I’m addicted and need at juicer at home. That’s it, do I need to say more?

The last couple of bits are some books; The Fault In Our Stars and all of the I Heart.. books, please! I’m also in need of a diary and I was browsing around and found this beaut of a diary – simple yet beautiful! Whilst I was looking on the Zara Home page I found some bedding – some beautiful bedding. I always seem to wish for bedding for my birthday and this time I fell for this Zara Home one!

Do you have any camera suggestions? Have you read some of the books?
Do let me know in the comments <3

Haul // SKIN FOOD

Let’s just this post with; “I don’t know what happened?” I have kind of fallen for a new skin care brand – Skin Food! Love the name, love the packaging, love the brand.

Since being here in Vietnam, I have shopped a bit ( Ahem .. a lot) and I have tried some new brands. Skin Food is one of those brands that I really really like so I needed to try out some more products – besides the Skin Food Black Bean Nose Pack (Reduce Black Heads) which you can find a review of here. This post is going to be a show-off *slash* mini reviews! Let’s get going:
The first product I picked up was the 50 % Shea Butter Body Emulsion. First of all; how nice is the packaging! Oh my. The product is basically just a body moituriser that contains shea butter. I like this moituriser – a lot – and I think I would like it even more, if I where at home and not in this heat! It has a thinner consistensy which I quite like but in this Vietnam heat, it’s like it’s melting off if I apply it when I’m not in the aircon. In aircon, it’s working fine for me, so I have a feeling that it will be great at home. Though I like it, I have found something better! Watch this space.

Next is the Honey & Shea Butter Hand Cream – Yes, I have a thing for Shea butter products, okay? This is a lovely hand cream. Loved it at first, stilly really like it but it’s not fabules. I have a hard time finding hand creams as I’m quite picky.

My favourite lip balm got lost somewhere in all of my travelling, so I had to get a new one. So whilst I was in the Skin Food store I upped for – oh wait for it….. The Shea Butter Lip Care Bar in Milk. Yup, more shea butter for me! This is actually a really lovely lip balm. Again I usually have a hard time finding new lip balms but this one is good. You can feel it working to moisten the lips, and I like that. The taste is nice and nutty.

The last couple of items are: The Black Sugar Sheet Mask, it’s a sheet mask do I need to say more? I love sheet masks and this is nice. I also needed nail polish remover, so I went for the Grapefruit Nail Polish Remover. This is the only product I didn’t get along with – it has been thrown out now. I haven’t tried the Eyelashes in Daily 3 but they look cool!

Did you know about Skinn Food? Have you tried any of their products?

I’ll have a new Vietnam Travels Post up for you soon – this will feature a lot of beach, sand and pool pictures, so stay tuned!

Have a lovely day, guys!

WOMF // Make-Over Time!

A couple of weeks ago I – probably – had the most relaxing one yet while I’ve been in Ho Chi Minh City – it was much needed! Sunday was one of those days where I did AB-SO-LUTLY nothing! Well, that’s not completely true – I catched up on Suits, Nashville and How I Met Your Mother. Yes, I know it’s much overdue with HIMYM! Another thing I had time for was taking some blog picture while the gorgeous sun was shinning! You can see one of the gorgeous pictures here

As far as the weekend before this – well, we went clubbing! All of the girls met up in our apartment and we got dressed, put on makeup and drank yummy white wine. Some of the girls needed a little pick-me-up makeup and I had talked one of the girls into doing a little makeover on her. Yaaay, the night just got a whole lot more exciting!

Lynn is an international pattern design student at TEKO and says that her whole class are very neutral girls who doesn’t wear makeup on a daily basis – or not at all. Not that there’s anything wrong with that! I also have my days where I don’t wear makeup. But as a makeup obsessed person I thought it would be fun to see her with a little makeup on for once and since we where going out, the timing was perfect.

The bits I used are pictured above. Two things I would say, is that we changed the lip colour to Rimmel London Apocalips in Big Bang later that evening and messy-curled her hair with my Remington Straightener. Look at how lovely she looks! She has beautiful green eyes and a lovely smile – don’t you think?

Lots of love – from Vietnam
