I won my first Urban Decay Lipstick!

I was lucky enough to win a gorgeous giveaway a week or two ago. The giveaway was held by the lovely Rebecca from Ohkalukalay – go take a peek at her lovely blog! Right from the start I had my eyes set on prize – I really wanted to win as this would be my first ‘real’ Urban Decay product! Wait, whhaaat!?

I was a frequent-twitter-bunny and tweeted away. So when I got the news, I was kind of freaking out! This totally made my week – more like year! Now the time had come for me to pick a colour, which was the hardest decision EVER! I googled for swatches. Originally I had eyed F-Bomb and Catfight but when I then came to think.. I have lots of lipsticks like F-Bomb and Streak looked so gorgeous and I had nothing like it in my collection, so I  just had to have it. I will do a review on the lipstick – but as far as I know a the moment, I need to get my hands in one.. maybe two or three? more. Catfight is still on the top of my list.

Well this Friday I got a parcel and I was sooo curious on what, when and who it was from, so I ripped the outside paper like a child who just got her first Christmas present – you could tell I was excited! And as I came closer and closer to the ‘real’ packaging I saw this gorgeous present – it’s a beaut!

Inside the present was a handwritten card from Rebecca wishing me congrats on winning – beautiful handwriting lovely! Then I saw the chocolate! This Christmassy beaut of a chocolate (it’s gone now and tasted delish) And then.. Then I saw the lipstick! I ripped the packaging *gently this time* and then I saw a beaut of a lipstick. At first I was worried about how pink it was, but on the lips it’s a perfect pinky-coral!

Thank you so much for this lovely present! Your next giveaway winners have something good in store as this was so personal and it made my day <3

Have you tried any of the Revolution Lipsticks from Urban Decay? Yes, which colour then?

Review // Michael Todd True Organics Walnut Grapefruit Polishing Scrub

Ramble
A little story behind how I know about Michael Todd True Organics. I first saw it on Rachel Talbott’s channel a year ago – I believe. I really trust her opinion about skin care as she has experience from the ‘real world’. I went to MTTO website to see their products and I really started to lust lust lust! Their products are not too bad in the prize range so even a poor student like myself can afford it. When I started seeing the brand I was in the middle of Shanghai, China studying so I quickly ‘forgot’ about the brand until I got home. By then I had started seeing lots of other youtubers talking about the brand – Fleur (Who enabled one purchase from MTTO), Ingrid and I believe Tati started too. Wow – lots of enablers! And this goes to show that sponsored post/videos really help – I wouldn’t have known about the brand otherwise and I love it!

Review
OK enough about that and now to the review. Michael Todd True Organics are made with only organic ingredients, no added nasties and no animal testing! And their shipment are free from import duty -yay! I ordered a product from Michael Todd True Organics in August, I think. I actually just wanted the Green Blue Algae Toner – due to Fleur – but they had a offer at that moment so I got this full size Michael Todd True Organics Grapefruit Polishing Scrub and a big sample of the Pumpkin Mask. All of this for only the toners price and shipment! What!?

The scrub is a body cleanser exfoliater that removes dead skin cells and stimulates production of fresh skin. It exfoliates beautifully and makes my skin feel soft and cleansed.
Now, imagine that you’re on a beach in the middle of the Christmas season, add a bit of oil to moisture your body + everything Christmas scent-y and here you have the Michael Todd True Organics Walnut Grapefruit Polishing Scrub! The aloe and lavender give a calming affect on the skin where the scrubbing bits which is the walnut and oats feels like small grains of sand and this makes the scrub very pleasing to use. I use this every other time I shower and I’m looking forward to that shower every time. The delicious scent lingers a bit but enough – as I can’t get enough of the scent.

I have had some trouble with breakouts and small bumps on my upper arms and the back of my thighs and this scrub has really helped to reduce them – and some are totally gone! The only downside to this product is the packaging as it’s superb difficult to get the product out without squeezing it, tap it beat it on the floor and try to squeez again. Buuuuut I just took a peek at their site and they have changed the packaging so the have been listening to their costumers – hopefully this packaging will be much better 🙂
All in all, it’s smells heavenly of Christmas and Christmas is my favourite time of the year! Go get your mitts in this Christmassy, all year scrub.

Have you tried anything from MTTO? & What is your favourite body scrub?

TAG // The A/W Beauty Tag

What is your current go to foundation for A/W 13?

I usually don’t wear foundation all that often – only when I’m going out with the girls. So for everyday I use my Garnier BB Cream in Light/ClearBut if I had to choose a foundation I would go for my Rimmel London Wake Me Up Foundation in Classic Beige. I still love the dewy look for the winter season.

What is your favourite Lip Balm for winter?
I love me some mentholatum. My favourite is just a £1 one, but its my little lippy gem! It’s my all time favourite for every season. I don’t know what it is about it, I just love the tinge ling and the cooling effect on the lips and if it happens that my lips gets cracked this is the perfect lip balm too. I love this paired with my LUSH Cosmetics Lipscrub in Julips – yummy!

Though, I’ve just won a Burts Bees Lip Balm via Baobella and I’ve heard lots about them and SO excited to try it. Baobella have loads of great giveaways/offers – all you have to do is sign op here

If you had to choose to wear one lipstick shade all winter what would it be?

See, this is a hard one, India! Why do you do this to me 😉 If I absolutely HAVE to choose just one it might have to be my Clinique Chubby Stick Intense in Roomiest Rose. It’s perfect for a bit darker lip but also perfect for everyday + it moisturise my lippies!

Describe your most worn wintery make up look?
I am a lipstick kind of girl so it has to be a darker lip with a subtle eye. The lips could be MAC Dare You or Rimmel Apocalips in Big Bang *See what I did there – more lippies*For the eyes, just something neutral from my collection and might even a subtle smokey eye with a little liner. For the rest of the face I would have to blush it up with my Illamasqua Cream Blusher in Dixie or elf Blush in Blushing Rose. The elf blush is perfect for the winter season.

What beauty produkt would you most like to try next?
I’ve eyen eyeing up the NARS Sheer Glow Foundation – would really love to get my mitts in that one. I’ve heard such lovely things about it. Skin care wise it would have to be the Esteé Lauder Advanced Night Repair Serum, think this would do my skin wonders this cold winter! I’ve written a little about my lust here

What are yout favourite products in your current skin care routine?
At the moment I’m trying out some Ren sample and I kind of really like the Night Cream. I’ll do a first impressions post about the little sample set soon. Another skin care staple is my The Body Shop Vitamin C Skin Boost. I either mix this in with my night cream og use it kind of as a serum efter cleasing & toning but before applying moisturiser. It givea my skin a vitamin C skin boost *as the name nicely hints* and it givea a silky smooth feel. I believe that you could use it as a primer too.
What is your favourite winter scent?
I don’t have a whole lot of perfumes/scents but the one I love for the winter season is my Dolce & Gabbana The One Lace. I’m terrible at describing scents but it’s fruity yet musky if that makes sense? For a very Christmassy scent, I really love Michael Todd True Organics Walnut Grapefruit Polishing Scrub – it seriously smells like Christmas!

Well this was my A/W Beauty Tag created by India-Robyn. If you fancy a peek at hers here’s the link. I haven’t tagged anyone but if you fancy doing it, please tweet me your links, would love to see other answers and RT some! <3

Mini Haul // Feel Unique

As I wrote in my last post (here) bloggers can be such enablers! All of these purchases in this mini haul is because of beauty bloggers. I’ve been wanting a Maybelline Color Tattoo for ages – absolutely ages – but the colour selection here sucks! There’s is not one colour I would consider purchasing, except for the turquoise one but that would only be for the fun of a bright colour. I’ve been really down over the fact that I didn’t have any of them in my make up collection so when I had to pick up the L’ORÉAL Paris Skin Perfection 3 in 1 Purifying Micellar Solution for the second time *re-purchase* I had to take a peek at the colour selection. And man I was happy when I saw the colours – I debated weather or not to pick up the Pink Gold or this Metallic Pomegranate so I had to ask on twitter and you guys said the Metallic Pomegranate and so it became mine. It’s a gorgeous purple-ly berry colour – if that makes sense? It has some pretty golden glitter particles with gives it that extra UMF.

There have been loads of hype around the Rimmel London Moisture Renew Lipsticks and their new formulation. I had to see what the hype was all about and when I saw SugarfixxBeauty tweeted about her purchase I knew that I needed one in my life, the question now was – what colour to choose!? Then a couple of days after Katie’s tweet, Viviannadoesmakeup used In Love With Ginger in her Makeup Menu Video I knew right there and then that I needed this colour in my life! Such enablers!

As for Feel Unique goes I was one of the unlucky ones who had to pay import duty – fortunately they are suppose to be open and willing to pay the duty back and I’m working on that! I love Feel Unique’s site and if I get my money back – I will not hesitate to do some more online shopping on there 🙂

Have you tried any of these products? & have you done some online shopping lately too?

Wish List With a Twist // Skin Care Bits

(Organic Surge, Esteé Lauder, Lush & Una Brennan)
I have permission to use all the pictures which are property of the bloggers mentioned
I’ve actually been a good girl and been up to date with reading blogs lately. I love reading blogs but sometimes I just need the 25th! I always get inspiration for what to buy and for what not to buy. The problem with reading loads of blogs is that most bloggers are such enablers and I usually fall in love with positive reviews – but who doesn’t!?

I felt like making a little wish list, I love to create them, do the research and share the things with you. But I wanted to do a wish list with a twist today as I really like finding new blogs with awesome posts and reviews. Aaaand I really really like to discover new brands and products – which I OF COURSE need in my life.

Therefore I wanted to share 4 different products and 4 lovely blogs with you.
The first bits aren’t exactly all skin care bits but I just wanted to share this whole bundle with you. Organic Surge is a brand I wasn’t familiar with before reading Gemma’s post. And might I just say that I need to get my mitts in that bundle. She captures me with the way she describes the products in such details, that you can’t go wrong buying one of her positive reviews.

Now to the products. The Organic Surge Blogger Bundle is a mix of shower, creams and a hair mask. Everything from Organic Surge is free from parabens, synthetic colours & fragrances, mineral oil and other nasties. Which was what sold me on the brand! The Organic Surge Citrus Mint Shower Gel contains Mint and Citrus *as the name nicely hints* which is perfect for me – who wouldn’t want to smell like a delicious Mojitoooo!? Their Organic Surge 2 Minute Moisture Mask is a product she has already raved about and is a mask for dull, dry or frizzy hair! With my coloured and bit curly hair this mask sounds amazing + I love that the Coconut Oil Scent lingers – love me some coconut! I’m still on the hunt for the perfect hand cream and the Organic Surge Lavender Meadow Hand & Nail Cream sounds smooth-ly amazing. Lastly for this bundle is the  Organic Surge Blissful Daily Moisturiser which is described as a lightweight moisturiser and this had me hooked – I don’t like thick moisturisers on my face. The best part of the bundle is the price! Only £20.95 for the whole bundle! If some of this sounds right up your street, you need to take a peek at the full indept review here and why not follow her for more great reviews!
Every blogger, none-blogger and their mother have heard about this serum! I haven’t tried any serums – yes I know, shame on me. But since Autumn is obviously here and winter and even colder weather is coming, my face needs some more moisture. Dolled Up London is a blog I enjoy reading and check up on everytime a new post appears. Nuria is just such a lovable blogger who works a Benefit – that lucky lucky lady! She has both showed this bottle of wonders in a haul and a tag and in both posts she mentions that she already sees improvement! Give it to meeee. You need to stop by the blog and see her lovely posts about everything beauty here.

LUSH Cosmetics Buffy Shower Scrub – Little Miss Average

So when I read this review, this product made it on my wish list immediately! I’ve only tried LUSH’s lipscrub but I need to check more stuff out! Megan totally sold me on this scrub. I love scrubs and the feeling afterwards – you feel so clean and smooth! LUSH Cosmetics Buffy Shower Scrub is a chunky bar packed with coca and sheabutter which will leave the skin with a smooth feeling – the ground rice, almonds and beans exfoliates. You will not need to moisturise your body afterwards – bam, Im sold! If you’ve read my blog for a while you’ll know I hate moisturising. She reviews this product with her southern charm as she does with all of her posts! Her blog has come a long way in no time and I see why – I remember just a couple of months back when I was her 100th follower and now she has over 700. Well done, lovely! If you want to be Southern Charmed by Little Miss Average you need to stop by here
I think that every UK blogger have been reviewing products by Una Brennan especially the Super Facialst Tea Flower Deep Clean Clay Mask and it kills me that you can’t get a hold of it online! If any of you know a place (international) where you can get it, PLEASE let me know in the comments. Emmy describes the mask as light on the skin, which I like the sound of and unlike most other clay masks it doesn’t leave your skin feel dry. She also reviewed the Super Facialist Vitamin C+ Skin Renew Cleansing Oil sounds amazing too and I really need to get my mitts in some of these products. Life by Emmy is a blog I just recently started following but I’m already loving her posts and her easy writing. She writes about everything – fashion, beauty, travels – if you fancy peeking at her blog here’s her link.

So this was my kind of long wish list with a twist! If you liked it, please let me know as I’m already working on the next one.

Do you any of these products on your wish list? & do you follow these blogs? If not go do it via the links (do tell them that I sent you 😉 )

WOMF // Blushing Rose

I kind of love the star of the show in this WOMF – Benefit Creaseless Cream Shadow in RSVP. I’ve done a full review on this over on Beauty&Baker Blog if you fancy seeing swatches and the gorgeous packaging. The other little gem is my first ever eyeshadow from MAC. I just shopped my stash with this one as I’d totally forgotten about it. It is the gorgeous De-Vil from MAC Cruella de Vill collection 3 years ago. I love to blend this in the crease, it gives a pretty copper-y finish. It works great for both an everyday look, but also a dark evening look.

For the cheeks I used my well loved e.l.f. Blush in Blushing Rose which is a berry colour with golden shimmer. This is one of my favourites autumnal blushes. To look a bit more awake and bronzed I used some of The Body Shop Honey Bronze Bronzing Powder in 03 – as you can see it’s well loved! 😉 Lastly my favourite of favourites mascara! Let me introduce you to Maybelline The Rocket Volum Express, a mascara that you probably already know of but I just love it! It makes my lashes look WOW! Might do a review with before and after pictures if you fancy one?

How do you like this WOMF? & if you’ve come all the way from Beauty&Baker Blog what did you think of the review?

A cheeky little PS – excuse my cray cray hair! Have no idea what’s up with it

Empties // November 2013

I think this is my first Empties Post. I’m so bad at saving empty products but I have now made a little space in a drawer in my desk for them – so look out for more empties posts. This one is going to be a bit of a mix between repurchasing or not.
Batiste Dry Shampoo 200 ml £4 /DDK 39
This is a definitely repurchase product. Haven’t done it yet, but I will soon. I purchased this from Nicehair.dk when I won £28 /DDK 250 to shop for. The site is easy to map around and I’ve done a haul here and a post about their membership here. Before purchasing this I had heard a lot about Batiste but not a lot about dry shampoo and how/why to use it. And maan, I’m glad I figured out how and why, as this product saves me a lot of time in the mornings and it’s pretty healthy for the hair not to get washed every day. Definitely a repurchase product – maybe in another scent. Any recommendations?

The Body Shop Body Butter in Coconut (Sample)
My brother got me this last Christmas in a set. I love coconut – as he knows – so I’ve had this before in the biggest size and will definitely get it again. I love the scent, which you have to love as your whole apartment/room will smell of it. It lingers beautifully and is great for my dry dry legs. If you have dry legs but not up for the coconutty scent then I’ll recommend the Mango scented one. I’ve done a post about my love for The Body Shop here and a guest post here
AUSSIE High Personality Hi Hold + Hi Shine Hairspray
I purchased this when I took a trip to London last summer. I can’t remember how much it was but I got 3 products for *something*. I know that it was so much cheaper than here, as one Aussie product in Denmark is around the £10/DDK 100 mark. This is not exactly empty but I just didn’t like it. I don’t know what it is about it. I usually love Aussie products so I thought that I would give this a go – not for me. I’m more a lover of the L’Oréal one with the ‘grandmother scent/smell’ 😉
Korres Wild Rose 24-hour Moisturising Cream SPF 6 (Sample)
I got this little sample in a beauty box and I really loved it. It kept my skin nicely moisturising but the sample was so small that it didn’t really get to work into my skin – if you know what I mean? I really like it though, and if I had the money I would definitely buy the full size and test that one out.
Plasir Scandinavian Skin Care Waterproof Eye Makeup Remover
This was actually a great eye makeup remover at first. But then I didn’t really like it. It removes the eye makeup okay but I didn’t really love it. I don’t know what’s wrong with it – do you know that feeling?
Garnier Skin Naturals Pure Active Scrub
This is my love! I use this every time I shower and my face feels clean without the ‘too clean-feeling‘. I have been repurchasing this about 3-4 times and even my brother likes to use it when ever I visit my mom or dad. It has a cooling effect which is perfect when in the hot shower. I massage it in all over the face and a bit on the neck area too. Love it, and would definitely recommend this to every one – plus it’s cheap too!
L’Oréal Ever Sleek Shampoo
I will not say much about this product as I’ve done a full review here. I really like it, and will definitely be repurchasing this at some point – but I DO love to test different shampoos and conditioners.

So this were my empties of November – some I LOVED others not so much.

Have you tried the some of these bits? What did you think?

Lots of love

NOTD // A Christmassy dot with Gina Tricot Beauty

(Gina Tricot Beauty – £4/DDK 39)
Since I started working at Gina Tricot I’ve been lustering over their makeup bits. I really want to try everything and test the quality. Yes, I know – the makeup at clothing store are usually cheap and the products are thereafter but it’s so much fun to test it out and there might be a little gem hitten in the bunch.

I’ve only picked up tree nail polishes so far, all Christmas colours – of course! I love Christmas, it’s my favourite time of the year! You’ll get to see all of the colours in a review later, but first I wanted to show a Nail Of The Day I created yesterday. As I’m going to a ‘Christmas Lunch/dinner’ tonight – a Christmas tradition here in Denmark which usually starts in November too – with 19 other girls from my class! It’s going to be so much fun – and drunk!

For the all over the nail colour I used Gina Tricot Beauty in 149 Sea Bug which is a gorgeous chrome green colour and this was the first polish I picked up. It is beautiful and it kind of reminded me of Essie’s ‘For the Twill Of It’ (which I need to get my mitts in) and then again it didn’t. Two coats does the job and I just love the look of it! This will definitely be a Christmas stable for me. To make the nails a bit more interesting I made a little gold dot with Gina Tricot Beauty in 67 Luxurious.

I love this simple Christmassy look which you can create for other seasons too – using the colours you love!

Do you like the look? Oh, and would you like to see an Outfit Of The Day?

Lots of love
Marie-Louise xx
